Former Philadelphia Eagles safety K'Von Wallace will be auditioning for a roster spot at New York Giants minicamp.

New York Giants’ minicamp is off and running here on June 17, and head coach Brian Daboll has revealed that his team will host four tryouts throughout the three-day stretch of practices.

NorthJersey.com beat reporter Art Stapleton relayed all four tryouts for fans on X, and the headliner is former Philadelphia Eagles fourth-round pick and safety K’Von Wallace.

Along with Wallace, the Giants are bringing in another safety in Millard Bradford, an outside linebacker in Kenny Dyson Jr., and guard Carter O’Donnell.

Background info on each Giants’ minicamp tryout can be found below.

Giants Looking to Bring in Safety Competition With K’Von Wallace & Millard Bradford Tryouts at Minicamp

Two of these tryouts are targeting the same position, safety, which tells us Big Blue feels they could use a little more depth and competition in this area.

As of June 16, the Giants were set to enter mandatory minicamp with the following safeties on their roster:

It’s also of note that half of these players have seemingly been dealing with injuries. The Athletic’s Dan Duggan reported that “the Giants were exceptionally short-handed at safety [on June 12] with Holland, Nubin and Johnson sidelined.”

As for the new recruits, Wallace is the big name, although his NFL career has been far less successful than his Clemson one.

As mentioned above, the 5-foot-11 Wallace began as a fourth-round selection of the Eagles, appearing in 45 regular-season games (7 starts) over three seasons. From there, he’s appeared in games with the Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks.

Wallace has been credited with 168 total tackles throughout his pro career, with 1 interception, 2 tackles for a loss and 1 forced fumble. He’s also recovered a fumble and broken up 8 passes.

Wallace was most recently a member of the Seahawks, and he’s been a steady special teams contributor since entering the league with 966 total ST snaps compared to 1,484 snaps on defense.

The 5-foot-10 Bradford was an undrafted rookie last year in 2024, joining the New Orleans Saints. He eventually appeared in 3 regular-season outings with the Saints, logging 3 total tackles off 40 special teams snaps.

Former UDFAs Kenny Dyson Jr. & Carter O’Donnell Attempt to Defy the Odds With Giants

KPRC 2 NFL insider Aaron Wilson also reported on the Dyson tryout, stating the following:

“Giants working out former [Carolina] Panthers and Bryant linebacker Kenny Dyson Jr., per a league source. Former All-Big South Conference selection had 33 1/2 tackles for losses, 24 1/2 sacks, three forced fumbles, one interception for his college career.”

As noted by Wilson, the 6-foot-3 Dyson spent his rookie year with the Panthers after going undrafted. Similar to Bradford, he eventually received an NFL opportunity with 2 regular-season appearances at outside linebacker and on special teams.

Dyson was credited with 2 total tackles and 1 QB hit over 10 defensive snaps and another 21 on special teams. He’ll be hard-pressed to earn a training camp roster spot considering the Giants’ depth at edge rusher.

O’Donnell is more similar to Wallace than Bradford and Dyson, being that he’s bounced around the league for several years. The 6-foot-5 offensive lineman was not drafted, and he turns 27 years old in December.

His only regular-season snaps came with the Arizona Cardinals in 2023. O’Donnell started 3 games for the Cards that year, appearing in 5, with 193 offensive snaps and 1 lone snap on special teams.

He was penalized 4 times (3 holding calls) and earned a Pro Football Focus grade of 54.1 out of 100.

Both will attempt to defy the odds at Giants minicamp and earn a place on the 90-man roster.
