The New York Jets will look to bounce back in Week 2 as they host the Buffalo Bills.

They will have to do so without several players suiting up in the contest. On Sunday, September 14, the team announced the full inactive list:

That group included: running back Kene Nwangwu, offensive tackle Esa Pole, defensive tackle Jay Tufele, wide receiver Josh Reynolds, tight end Jelani Woods, and rookie pass rusher Tyler Baron.

Baron wasn’t listed on the injury report and therefore is a healthy scratch in this divisional matchup.

Jets Rookie TE Mason Taylor Receives the Green Light

Rookie Mason Taylor was a limited participant for the majority of practice week with an ankle issue. That was the same ankle that the former LSU product banged up during training camp.

Despite some initial concerns, Taylor is “expected to play” against the Bills, according to the NFL Network.

Taylor only had one catch for 20 receiving yards in his NFL debut. He is expected to be a key cog in the Jets‘ passing attack in 2025.

Insider ‘Blown Away’ by Justin Fields’ Jets Debut in 2025

ESPN’s Rich Cimini said he was “blown away” by Justin Fields’ performance in Week 1 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.

However, he told Matt Bove and Sal Capaccio that he needs to see Fields do it again.

Not only was Cimini blown away, but he revealed that Fields’ teammates in the locker room had their engines revved.

“I can tell you one thing, the players in the locker room were fired up by his performance for sure,” Cimini said on the “It’s Always Gameday in Buffalo” podcast.

Interesting Stat From Jets on Josh Allen Pressure

Jets team reporter Caroline Hendershot revealed that the Jets have sacked Bills quarterback Josh Allen 27 times across 13 career games. That is the most Allen has gone down against any single opponent.

Insider Shares Keys to Victory for the Jets vs. The Bills

Cimini explained that it basically boils down to two things for the Jets: run the ball and force Allen into multiple turnovers.

If the Jets don’t run the ball and they become one-dimensional on offense, that is not their scene, that is not their vibe. They can’t drop back with Justin Fields 40 times; everything feeds off of that running game. They have to run the ball for at least 150 yards to have a chance in this game,” Cimini said on the “It’s Always Gameday in Buffalo” podcast.

Then, on the other side, try to turn over Josh Allen. I think that the games in which the Jets were actually competitive against the Bills in recent years were when Josh Allen had multi-turnover games against the Jets. He has 18 turnovers against the Jets, which is more than any single quarterback has against a single opponent since 2018,” Cimini revealed.
