One week removed from a profitable WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas, WWE is rewarding Triple H with a massive contract extension.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, WWE President Nick Khan announced in a meeting that Triple H recently agreed to a contract extension to remain the company’s Chief Content Officer.
Sources told Johnson that it’s a multi-year contract, potentially “as long as three years.” According to Johnson, Triple H signed the new deal last week.
As WWE‘s Chief Content Officer, Triple H oversees the company’s creative team. He was promoted in 2022 after longtime chairman Vince McMahon retired.
Triple H (real name Paul Leveque) has drawn mixed reviews as WWE’s lead executive.
Fans were notably peeved with the amount of celebrity inclusion during the Road to WrestleMania. Last year, fans also lashed out at the booking for John Cena‘s retirement match, which ended with the 17-time World Champion tapping out to Gunther.
Triple H Gained Full Control After WrestleMania 40

Although he has been a WWE lead executive for several years, Triple H revealed that he truly gained creative control away from Vince McMahon after WrestleMania 40.
A guest on Cody Rhodes’ podcast, What Do You Wanna Talk About?, The American Nightmare asked Triple H if the fan consensus that The Game wasn’t truly in charge until WrestleMania 40 is true. The Hall of Famer beat around the bush a bit before admitting that, if fans want a specific time to label the beginning of his creative era, then WrestleMania 40 is a fair benchmark.
“I’m terrible with times. It’s not like one day, ‘Here, it’s yours,’ and everything else went away, right? There were so many aspects to that.” Triple H explained. “[Vince McMahon]’s chiming in and he’s still meeting with me all the time, and he’s still directing traffic from the side. There’s no real clear moment for me,” Leveque explained.
Triple H noted that the WrestleMania 40 main event was the first big event he booked without McMahon’s influence.
NXT Has Become a Breeding Ground for WWE Stars

For Triple H, preserving the future of the company is paramount, and NXT has been instrumental in that process.
With McMahon in charge, WWE would seek new stars on the independent scene or from opposing promotions. Under the Triple H regime, most of WWE’s legends of tomorrow are homegrown.
NXT standouts Oba Femi, Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams all competed at WrestleMania 42. Each fighter was promoted to the main roster less than a year ago.
During RAW After WrestleMania, Femi announced that “the ruler has arrived,” warning the roster of his imminent takeover.
Femi’s seismic arrival could spur a large-scale NXT invasion of the main event roster.
NXT stars Ethan Page, Joe Hendry and Sol Ruca, were promoted to RAW last week.
During the story mode for WWE 2k26, Triple H mentions an NXT Mutiny, as the next wave of stars prep to take the reigns from WWE veterans.
It appears that a takeover could happen on RAW and SmackDown, not just the video game.
