An 86-car pileup in Ohio on Monday morning left a 12-year-old girl dead and at least 20 injured. The girl was killed after she got out of her already damaged vehicle and stood near a cable barrier near the median. Another car hit one of the cables, which snapped and struck the girl, killing her. No other injuries sustained are expected to be life-threatening.
The reason given for the massive wreck was ice on the roads and that visibility was poor. There were at least four other smaller pileups nearby due to the conditions. Several highways were closed throughout the day due to the large amount of accidents.
