Former MTV reality star Danny Dias had died at age 34. The Linden, New Jersey, native appeared on two of MTV’s hit reality series in the early 2000s.

1. There Are Conflicting Reports About the Time of Death
There are conflicting reports about Dias’ time of death. While US Magazine is reporting that police responded to a 911 call on Saturday evening and subsequently pronounced “an unconscious and unresponsive 34-year-old” dead at the scene, TMZ is reporting that Dias’ friend found him dead in his bedroom on Monday. “We’re told the friend left the apartment and over the next 2 days called Dias, getting no response. The friend became concerned and on Monday, he went to check on Dias and found him dead in the room,” writes TMZ.
US Magazine , says that a New York Police PIO informed them that EMS responded to a 911 and pronounced Dias dead at the scene at approximately 5pm. “The Medical Examiner is going to determine the cause of death,” according to the outlet.
2. Police Are Reportedly Treating the Case as a Possible Suicide
Although an official cause of death has not yet been determined, TMZ recently reported that police found 2 vertical lacerations on Dias’ forearms, and that the case is being treated as a possible suicide.
The outlet also says that a friend who was with Dias at his Brooklyn apartment on Saturday believes the former reality star took LSD and mushrooms. TMZ writes, “The friend says Dias freaked out, ran in his room and that was the last the friend saw of him.”
According to the department PIO, no criminality is suspected at this time and no arrests have been made.
3. He Appeared on Season 13 of MTV’s ‘Road Rules’
Dias appeared on Season 13 of Road Rules.
A 2013 article in Vevmo reported that at that time, he was living in New York and pursuing acting, singing, and writing, though he’d previously worked in banking and finance.
Road Rules wasn’t Dias’ only experience on reality television. In 2005, he appeared in the series The Challenge, but was eliminated after four episodes.
4. He Discussed Being Gay in a 2004 Interview for ‘Road Rules’
In his 2004 interview as part of Road Rules, Dias revealed that he came out of the closet at age 14.
“It was a little bit hard… My mom found out, she turned around and said ‘You’re grounded’ and I was like ‘What?!'” Danny then added on, “I’m hoping I don’t have to live with a closed-minded homophobic person.”
5. He Majored in Music Education
According to his IMDB bio, Dias attended Westminster Choir College at Rider University in Princeton, New Jersey, until 2003. He majored in Music Education.
In Road Rules, he starred alongside cast members like Derrick Kosinsi, Jodi Weatherton, and Patrick Maloney.
