The Dolphins claimed Dodson off waivers Tuesday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Dodson was surprisingly let go by the Seahawks on Monday, and it didn't take long for the 26-year-old linebacker to find a new home. He led Seattle with 71 tackles across nine regular-season games, and he'll bolster Miami's depth at inside linebacker alongside David Long, Anthony Walker and Jordyn Brooks.

Tyrel Dodson Latest News
Claimed by Miami
The Dolphins claimed Dodson off waivers Tuesday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Dodson was surprisingly let go by the Seahawks on Monday, and it didn't take long for the 26-year-old linebacker to find a new home. He led Seattle with 71 tackles across nine regular-season games, and he'll bolster Miami's depth at inside linebacker alongside David Long, Anthony Walker and Jordyn Brooks.
Dropped by Seattle
Dodson was waived by the Seahawks on Monday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. In a surprising move, the Seahawks parted ways with Dodson on Monday, despite him being the team's leading tackler through nine games. He played 100.0 percent of Seattle's defensive snaps in seven of the team's nine contests this season, tallying 71 total tackles, including 2.0 sacks, and defending two passes. Expect Dodson to be a hot name on the free-agent market, likely finding a new home in the coming days.
Leading tackler in loss
Dodson made nine tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Rams. Dodson tied with Ernest Jones for the team lead in tackles. The duo has played every defensive snap through two weeks together, and both players should be useful fantasy options after the Seahawks' Week 10 bye.
Seven stops versus former team
Dodson recorded seven tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Bills. Dodson was joined by Ernest Jones, who was traded to the Seahawks on Wednesday, and the duo played every defensive snap and combined for 22 stops. A former Bill, Dodson's role appears secure in this defense where he has averaged 7.8 tackles per game.
Posts seven stops Week 6
Dodson tallied seven tackles (five solo), including one for loss, in a defeat against the 49ers on Thursday. Dodson has been very consistent this season with at least seven tackles in five of his six games. He's recorded 49 total stops on the season to pace Seahawks defenders. Dodson has 2.0 sacks among those tackles while adding a defensed pass and a forced fumble.
Secures sack in loss
Dodson recorded nine total tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday's 29-20 loss to the Giants. Dodson fell just short of reaching double-digit tackles for the second straight week, but he did get to Daniel Jones in the contest for his second sack of the year. The linebacker has now compiled 42 total tackles (23 solo), including 2.0 sacks, and also forced a fumble over five games this season.
Ready to rock
Dodson (ankle) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Giants, Corbin K. Smith of SI.com reports. Dodson upgraded from a DNP on Wednesday to limited participation Thursday, and following Friday's injury report, he appears to be past his ankle injury. The Texas A&M product has logged 33 total tackles in the Seahawks first four contests, and he's expected to serve as the Seattle's top inside linebacker in Week 5.
Returns to practice
Dodson (ankle) was a limited participant in practice Thursday after missing Wednesday's walkthrough, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. It's a step in the right direction for the starting inside linebacker ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Giants. Dodson made 10 tackles (five solo) in Monday's loss to the Lions. The fifth-year pro has 33 tackles (20 solo), including 1.0 sacks, a pass defensed and a forced fumble in 2024.
Doesn't practice Wednesday
Dodson (ankle) didn't participate in the Seahawks' practice Wednesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. Dodson recorded 10 tackles (five solo) in the team's loss to the Lions last week but is now dealing with an ankle injury. If he ends up being unable to play versus the Giants on Sunday, Drake Thomas will likely start at linebacker in his place.
