Dunn ended Sunday's 127-118 overtime loss to the Kings with eight points (4-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt), two rebounds, one block and one steal in 21 minutes. Dunn returned to action following a one-game absence due to an ankle injury, and with Kevin Durant (ankle) sidelined, the rookie was thrust into a starting role. However, Dunn failed to capitalize on his third career start, as Royce O'Neale (28) and Grayson Allen (27) played more minutes off the bench. Regardless, with Durant sidelined for at least a few weeks, Dunn should maintain an increased role even if he moves to the bench, especially if Bradley Beal (knee) is forced to miss time.

Modest production in start
Starting Sunday
Dunn is in the Suns' starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Kings. Dunn missed Friday's game against the Mavericks due to an ankle injury. Not only was he cleared to return Sunday, but he will also be inserted into Phoenix's starting five due to Kevin Durant (calf) being sidelined, while Royce O'Neale will continue to come off the bench. Through eight regular-season games (including two starts), Dunn is averaging 6.8 points and 2.3 rebounds over 15.9 minutes per game.
Available Sunday
Dunn (ankle) is available for Sunday's game against the Kings. As expected, Dunn will return to action Sunday after missing his first game of the season Friday due to an ankle injury. The rookie's playing time and production have been sporadic, but he's averaged 6.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in 15.8 minutes over eight appearances (two starts).
Full participant in practice
Coach Mike Budenholzer said Dunn (ankle) fully participated in Saturday's practice and is expected to play in Sunday's game versus the Kings, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports. Dunn missed his first game of the season Friday due to an ankle injury but is expected to return to action against Sacramento. If Dunn is able to suit up, he should continue to be one of Phoenix's primary bench options in their forward rotation.
Out Friday
Dunn (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Mavericks, Evan Sidery of Forbes.com reports. The 21-year-old was considered doubtful for Friday's contest after suffering an ankle sprain Wednesday against Miami, so it's not a surprise he won't be available in Dallas. Dunn's next chance to take the court will come Sunday versus the Kings, but he could miss more time given the recency of the injury.
Doubtful for Friday
Dunn (ankle) is doubtful for Friday's matchup against the Mavericks, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports. Dunn sprained his left ankle during Wednesday's win over Miami and is not likely to suit up against Dallas on Friday. While the rookie made the trip to Dallas, there is a good chance he misses his first game of the season. Dunn has provided solid two-way play for the Suns thus far, and he has averaged 6.8 points and 2.3 rebounds across 15.9 minutes per game in eight regular-season outings (two starts).
Diagnosed with ankle sprain
Dunn ended with seven points (2-2 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound and one assist over nine minutes during Wednesday's 115-112 win over Miami. He left the contest in the fourth quarter with a sprained left ankle and did not return, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports. Dunn limped back to the locker room late in Wednesday's contest and did not return. While he's set to undergo further testing Thursday, he received an initial diagnosis of a sprained left ankle. The 21-year-old rookie has been a quality addition to the Suns rotation, and he's shooting 13-for-33 (39.4 percent) from three-point range after being considered a non-shooter in college. If he's forced to miss time, expect Royce O'Neale and Grayson Allen to pick up the slack. Dunn's next chance to play comes Friday at Dallas.
Goes to locker room
Dunn limped back to the locker room during Wednesday's game against the Heat for undisclosed reasons, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports. It's unclear when Dunn suffered the injury, but it forced him back to the locker room. While he's idle, Royce O'Neale and Grayson Allen could see more minutes.
Back to bench Saturday
Dunn is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Portland. Dunn was in the starting five against the Clippers on Thursday, and he finished with 16 points, four rebounds and one steal across 34 minutes. He'll retreat to the bench for Saturday's game as Bradley Beal (elbow) returns.
