Alex Sarr: Breaking News

Sarr (toe) has been ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale against Cleveland. Sarr will end up missing 23 of the Wizards' final 30 games of the regular season, most recently due to left toe inflammation. The 2024 first overall pick will end his sophomore season averaging 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 threes, 2.0 blocks and 0.8 steals over 27.2 minutes per game.

Head coach Brian Keefe said Thursday that Sarr (toe) is unlikely to play again this season, Chase Hughes of Monumental Sports Network reports. Sarr will miss a seventh consecutive contest Thursday due to a left big toe injury, and he should be considered doubtful for the Wizards' final two regular-season games until further notice. With the second-year big man on the shelf, Julian Reese and Anthony Gill will likely continue seeing increased burn.

Sarr (toe) is listed as out for Thursday's game versus Chicago. Sarr hasn't played since the 131-126 loss to the Warriors on March 27. At this point, it appears there's a chance he won't be back on the floor again this season. With Tristan Vukcevic (knee) also out, Julian Reese and Anthony Gill (neck/back) are candidates for increased roles.
