Washington Wizards Announce Trae Young Status Before Warriors Game

On Monday night, the Washington Wizards will host the Golden State Warriors in Washington, D.C.

The Wizards are coming off a 111-100 loss to the Boston Celtics (on the road).

Trae Young finished with 11 points, four rebounds and six assists while shooting 5/10 from the field and 0/2 from three-point range in 24 minutes of playing time.

For Monday’s game, the Wizards have announced their injury report.

Trae Young will be available.

Josh Robbins of The Athletic wrote: “The Wizards have listed Alex Sarr as out for what they’ve labelled as right hamstring injury management on Monday against the Warriors on the first night of a back-to-back. Also out: Anthony Davis, Kyshawn George, D’Angelo Russell, Cam Whitmore and Leaky Black. The injury-ravaged Warriors will be on the second night of a back-to-back.”

Young And The Wizards

Since the trade (in January), Young has only appeared in four games for Washington.

He is averaging 13.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 6.5 assists per contest while shooting 56.3% from the field and 37.5% from three-point range.

Young is only averaging 20.5 minutes of playing time since making his debut for the franchise.

The Wizards are finishing out the season in rebuilding mode, as they are the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 16-50 record in 66 games.

They are in the middle of an 11-game losing streak (and 11-22 at home).

Following the Warriors, the Wizards will play their next game on Tuesday when they host the Detroit Pistons.

Young Before Washington

Young was the fifth pick in the 2018 NBA Draft after one season at Oklaohma.

He spent the first seven and a half seasons of his career with the Atlanta Hawks (where he made four All-Star Games).

The 27-year-old has career averages of 25.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, 9.8 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 43.3% from the field and 35.1% from three-point range in 497 games.

The Warriors are the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 32-35 record in 67 games.

They have lost five games in a row.
