The Rockies outrighted Justice to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. The southpaw will remain in the organization after he went unclaimed off waivers when the Rockies designated him for assignment last weekend. Justice made 10 relief appearances in the majors over the previous two seasons but has pitched exclusively at Triple-A so far in 2025, logging an 8.10 ERA and 1.94 WHIP over 6.2 innings.
The Rockies designated Justice for assignment Sunday. The left-hander has been at Triple-A Albuquerque for the first few weeks of the season, but he's lost his place on the 40-man roster after giving up six earned runs with a 6:9 K:BB in his first five outings. Justice could remain with the Isotopes if he passes through waivers unclaimed.
The Rockies optioned Justice to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday. Justice struggled mightily in the minor leagues last season, finishing with an 8.76 ERA and 2.52 WHIP across 24.2 frames at Albuquerque. He showed signs of improvement during spring training, allowing two runs and striking out six batters over three innings, though the 26-year-old southpaw likely has quite a bit of work to do before the Rockies feel comfortable inserting him into their bullpen.
