BeatBox Beverages entered the Shark Tank in Season 6 with wine-based boxed cocktails available in flavors like Blue Razzberry Lemonade, Cranberry Limeade, Box A’Rita and Texas Sweet Tea.
Back then, we interviewed CEO Justin Fenchel about the company and how he got started. As his episode re-airs on Shark Tank Week, we talked to him about new developments, his work with Mark, and future plans, which include the company being “the Red Bull of the alcohol industry.”
Their Tremendous Growth
It’s been crazy! We went from a tiny Texas company with 100 stores selling BeatBox to a national company sold in 18 states and over 750 locations. That’s insane growth for an alcohol company in just one year. There is never a shortage of things to be doing.
Mark is super involved. We’ve met face-to-face three times this year to go over strategy, and we talk via email or cyberdust at least once a week. He cares a lot about seeing us succeed and grow and most importantly keeps us focused!
New Flavors- Fruit Punch & Grape
We’ve introduced a slightly smaller 3- liter box, and we just launched two new awesome flavors, fruit punch and grape that we are really excited about because they taste delicious.
Advice for ‘Tank’ Contestants
Over prepare. Watch every episode. If it’s an episode that relates to your business, watch it multiple times. Learn the Sharks’ patterns, stalk them. Go to their personal websites and learn about all the companies they invested in and why. When it comes to your pitch, record yourself and answer every question you think you might get out loud and review it. There is always more to be prepared for!
Ambitious Future Plans
We want to be the Red Bull of the alcohol industry. A lifestyle brand created by millennials for millennials. BeatBox is just our first product. There is a lot more to come.
