There was a time when your fantasy football team was lucky to get 2 catches from your tight end.
In Week 1 of the NFL season, a handful of them scored at least 2 touchdowns.
Led By Rob Gronkowski’s 3 scores, Jason Witten, Travis Kelce, Tyler Eifert and Austin Seferian-Jenkins added 2 apiece, while 11 other TEs hit paydirt once. That has to be some sort of record for one week. I’ve never seen so many tight ends score (16) in a single weekend.
Of course, that doesn’t mean we’re going to get a repeat performance in Week 2, which gets underway Thursday night with the Denver Broncos-Kansas City Chiefs matchup.
But the game and offenses are obviously changing, so you never know.
