Many football players have taken a knee this season but DJ Ward did it for much less controversial reasons prior to Oklahoma Sooners Senior’s Day game with the West Virginia Mountaineers. Ward proposed to his long-time girlfriend, Taylor Moore, in this pretty romantic video that was put out on the Sooners Twitter feed:
News OK reports that just before the romance, DJ Ward was awarded with the Don Key Award, sharing it with Dimitri Flowers and Jordan Smallwood. According to her Facebook page, Moore and Ward have been in a relationship since December 2012. Moore is a native of Oklahoma City and attended high school at Southmoore High School in the town of Moore. DJ Ward was also a student at Southmoore, according to Sooner Scoop. Ward only transferred to the school in his senior year, reported News OK. Ward’s army veteran father, Demetrius, had been an ROTC teacher at his son’s previous school in Douglass, Oklahoma.
Moore was formerly a student at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, graduating in 2015. She now attends Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City where is a defender for the school’s soccer team. Her online profile says that her favorite sports team is the Oklahoma City Thunder with Russell Westbrook being her favorite player. Her favorite food is Mexican while her favorite movie is Inception and for music Moore prefers hip-hip. When asked what her favorite Bible verse is, Moore replied, “The whole Bible.”
This proposal comes a day after Arkansas defensive lineman Bijhon Jackson popped the question to his girlfriend before his team’s game with Missouri.
