New York Yankees Announce Aaron Judge Update Before Blue Jays Series Finale

The New York Yankees are slated to play the Toronto Blue Jays in the series finale of a three-game set at Yankee Stadium at 1:35 p.m. EDT on Sunday.

The Yankees won the first game of the series 3-1 on Friday. The Blue Jays won 4-3 on Saturday.

Before Sunday’s game, Yankees manager Aaron Boone announced an update on injured star Aaron Judge.

-Has hit a few days off the tee, took yesterday off but will resume hitting today

-He is running and doing strength exercises, responding well

-There is still confidence that he will return this season

Judge has been on the injured list since early June due to a right rib stress fracture.

The star has hit .248/.375/.533 (150 wRC+) with 17 home runs and 38 RBI across 59 games this season.

Judge isn’t the only Yankees star who has dealt with a major injury this season.

Giancarlo Stanton has been out for most the year with a calf strain and may be sidelined for the rest of the season after straining his other calf.

Cody Bellinger missed time with a hamstring strain but returned to the lineup Sunday.

Max Fried is on the IL but is expected to be back this year. Ryan Weathers was also just placed on the IL.

The Yankees have won six of their last 10 games.

New York is the first AL Wild Card team with a 73-56 record. The team has a three-game lead over the Boston Red Sox, the second AL Wild Card team.

In the divisions standings, the Yankees are three games back of the Tampa Bay Rays for first place in the AL East.
