Weathers (2-2) earned the win over Baltimore on Saturday, allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out five batters over five-plus innings. Weathers looked like he was destined for a quality start when he entered the sixth frame with a 6-1 lead, but he gave up back-to-back singles to begin that inning and was pulled after a Ben Rice error loaded the bases for Baltimore. Two of the runners he put on base ended up scoring, but neither of those runs were earned. Weathers notched 10 whiffs on his 90 pitches and gave up only one extra-base hit -- a Pete Alonso solo homer. The lefty hurler has given up two or fewer earned runs in five of his seven starts this season, leading to a tidy 3.03 ERA along with a 1.19 WHIP and 45:10 K:BB over 38.2 frames. Weathers' next start lines up to be a home matchup against Texas.

Ryan Weathers: Breaking News
Allows two runs in no-decision
Weathers didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Astros after allowing two runs on six hits across 5.1 innings. He struck out four. Making his first start since returning from paternity leave earlier this week, Weathers picked things up where he left them off, as he had tossed 7.1 scoreless innings in his previous outing against the Royals on April 19. Weathers fell just two outs away from recording what would've been his third quality start of the season, but he's been pitching well of late. He's allowed two or fewer earned runs in three of his last four starts, and this outing lowered his ERA to 3.21 across 33.2 innings. Weathers should make his next start next weekend at home against the Orioles.
Returns from paternity leave
The Yankees reinstated Weathers from the paternity list Saturday. After spending three days away from the team to welcome a new addition to his family, Weathers will return to start Saturday's game against the Astros. The 26-year-old southpaw threw 7.1 shutout innings against the Royals during his most recent start, though he'll face a more difficult task Saturday in keeping quiet an Astros lineup that currently boasts the fourth-best OPS in MLB (.784). Angel Chivilli (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move.
