Philadelphia Phillies Made Unique MLB History During Cardinals Series

The Philadelphia Phillies are absolutely rolling right now.

After sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals this weekend, courtesy of an epic four-run comeback in the ninth inning on Sunday afternoon, which was capped off with a Kyle Schwarber 2-run home run, the Phillies have won nine consecutive MLB games, and it’s clear that the baseball gods are on their side right now.

Sitting at 73-58, the Phillies are just 3.0 games back of the Atlanta Braves for first place in the NL East. The Braves and Phillies still have seven games left to be played against one another, which will likely decide the division.

With that being said, reflecting on the recent Cardinals series, the Phillies made some very unique MLB history, which highlights their ‘cardiac’ tendencies this season so far.

The Phillies, after a rough stretch of baseball during the end of July into August, have struck fire once again and are putting immense pressure on the Atlanta Braves. The next series for the Phillies is an affair with the Seattle Mariners, which will be the first series out West in a nine-game road trip.
