The Atlanta Falcons added another piece to their receiving corps Monday, reaching an agreement with former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jahan Dotson.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the deal on X.
“Former Eagles WR Jahan Dotson reached agreement today with the Falcons on a 2-year $15M deal worth up to $17M including $10M fully guaranteed, per source,” Schefter wrote.
Dotson, 25, entered the league as a first-round pick out of Penn State in the 2022 NFL Draft. He spent his first two seasons with the Washington Commanders before being traded to the Eagles ahead of the 2024 season.
In Philadelphia, Dotson was used mostly in a complementary role but still appeared in all 17 games last season, finishing with 18 receptions for 262 yards and a touchdown.
The signing gives Atlanta another option in the passing game as the Falcons continue reshaping their roster heading into the 2026 season.
“WR Jahan Dotson has the kind of speed that was missing from the #Falcons WR room the last couple of seasons. A good complement to Drake London,” ESPN’s Marc Raimondi wrote.
Jahan Dotson Could Fill Key Role in Falcons WR Room
Dotson proves to be a much-needed addition to the Falcons wide receiver room, which had been thinned out significantly. Atlanta was down to just Casey Washington, David V. Sills and Drake London following the release of Darnell Mooney.
Dotson began his career with the Washington Commanders, racking up over 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns across his first two seasons. After being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024, however, his production dipped.
Over the last two seasons, Dotson has recorded just 478 receiving yards and one touchdown.
That said, the Falcons appear to be betting on a change of scenery helping the former first-round pick rediscover the form he showed early in his career. Atlanta’s offense is expected to feature a new look heading into the 2026 season, and Dotson could benefit from an expanded role depending on how the quarterback situation unfolds.
London will remain the clear WR1 in the offense, but Dotson has a legitimate chance to work himself into the WR2 role if he can regain some of his earlier production.
Falcons Continue Busy Start to Free Agency
It has already been a busy first day of free agency for Atlanta, with the team making multiple moves to reshape the roster.
Dotson wasn’t the only receiver added by the Falcons. Atlanta also brought back a familiar face in wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus.
“Zaccheaus makes so much sense as an addition to what is likely to be a revamped #Falcons WR room. Has familiarity with Matt Ryan, the player. Was also in Chicago with new GM Ian Cunningham,” Raimondi wrote.
Zaccheaus spent last season with the Chicago Bears, appearing in 16 games where he recorded 39 receptions for 313 yards and two touchdowns. Before that, he spent time with the Falcons from 2019 through 2023.
Atlanta also reunited with tight end Austin Hooper, signing him to a one-year deal worth $3.25 million.
Hooper also shares familiarity with the Falcons’ new head coach Kevin Stefanski. The two previously worked together during Hooper’s time with the Cleveland Browns.
With several new additions already made, the Falcons appear intent on reshaping their offense early in free agency.
