The Dallas Cowboys are heading into the 2026 NFL Draft with some serious questions about their cornerback room.
Trevon Diggs and Kaiir Elam are gone, and DaRon Bland is rehabbing from a second foot surgery. They did add Cobie Durant, but neither Shavon Revel nor Reddy Steward will scare many receivers around the league, so it might behoove Dallas to bulk that room up with the draft approaching.
In addition to drafting a young corner, there may be a veteran CB option available in Baltimore. Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey, a four-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, has been tied to trade speculation for weeks, with PFF labeling him the Ravens’ top trade asset.
K.D. Drummond of Cowboys Wire proposed a draft-day move that would bring Humphrey to Dallas. Let’s discuss.
Trade Proposal Sends Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey to the Dallas Cowboys During 2026 NFL Draft

GettyIn a trade proposal from Cowboys Wire would send Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey to the Cowboys during the 2026 NFL Draft.
“The Cowboys have worked around the edges to fix their cornerback depth, adding Cobie Durant from the Rams, and the veteran is very likely to compete for a starting spot,” Drummond wrote on April 13, adding: “But what if neither DaRon Bland or Shevon Revel is ready to assume a spot in the starting lineup? What if neither of them looks like a long-term fit because of their press-man proclivities, and the more zone-oriented scheme of Christian Parker doesn’t want to put up with not playing his preferred style for players with injury concerns?”
Would Baltimore be willing to listen to trade inquiries? Considering the team is now under the leadership of first-year head coach Jesse Minter, it’s a definite possibility.
“He has way more zone ability than either Bland or Revel, and he can shift down into the slot of those players surprise during training camp,” Drummond wrote about the Ravens CB. “Humphrey will be 30 before the season starts, but comes with two First-Team All-Pro designations, with one as recently as 2024, where he spent over 660 of 1,000 defensive snaps in a nickel role. Humphrey is in the final year of his deal in 2026, set to make $15.25 million. He has three void years attached, and a simple extension adding a year at similar pay and two more voids could make him just a $4 million blip on the team’s 2026 cap space.”
Drummond thinks Dallas’ fourth-round pick (118) and a fifth-rounder (No. 180 overall) would be enough to convince Baltimore to trade the veteran DB.
More Background on What Dallas Would Be Getting in Humphrey
At 6-foot, 210 pounds, Humphrey has played 131 career games, starting 113. He led the NFL in forced fumbles in 2020 and earned first-team All-Pro nods in 2019 and 2024. His 2024 campaign was arguably his best. He had 67 total tackles (50 solo), 0.5 sacks, five tackles for loss, four QB hits and a career-high six interceptions. He also scored the first defensive touchdown of his career.
But in 2025, there was a noticeable drop-off in his performance. Humphrey started 15 games, finishing with 68 tackles, 13 pass breakups, two forced fumbles and four interceptions, which led the Ravens.
But he also allowed 920 total yards in coverage, which was the second-worst mark among all CBs last season. He allowed 64 completions on 99 targets, which isn’t exactly going to make him a hot commodity on the trade market.
It’s possible Cowboys and new DC Parker could see some value in adding Humphrey, particularly if they add a young corner or two in the upcoming draft. If the Ravens defensive back is available, Dallas has to be careful not to overpay for his services.
