Humphrey sat out Week 11 against the Bengals and has a chance to play Sunday after logging limited practice sessions all week. If he's unable to go, Ronald Darby would likely see a similar workload like he got against the Bengals when he played 30 snaps on defense and recorded three pass deflections.
Humphrey missed last week's win over the Bengals due to a calf injury but is now closer to making his return. The 2017 first-round pick has already missed five games this season, and if he can't play Sunday versus the Chargers Ronald Darby will start in his place.
Humphrey suffered the injury in Week 10, and with Baltimore on a short week, playing the Bengals on Thursday of Week 11, the veteran corner was unable to recover in time. However, it appears there's a chance the Alabama product could be back on the field for Week 12.
The cornerback strained his calf in the Ravens' Week 10 loss to the Browns and then missed practice all week. Humphrey has 14 tackles and a pass defensed in six games this season.

The Ravens aren't likely to take any chances with Humphrey on a short week, but the team may wait until early Thursday to re-evaluate him before formally deciding on his status upon the release of the inactive list 90 minutes prior to the game's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. Assuming Humphrey sits out Thursday, the Ravens' top three cornerbacks will likely be Brandon Stephens, Rock Ya-Sin and Arthur Maulet.
Humphrey is dealing with a strained calf that isn't expected to be a long-term issue. The Ravens are on a short week, however, as they face the division-rival Bengals on Thursday night. Humphrey has two more days to get ready for a potential battle with Ja'Marr Chase.
It was initially feared that Humphrey suffered a strained Achilles, so the diagnosis represents good news for him. Baltimore's practice reports over the week will give a better idea of whether he might be able to get back to 100 percent in time for Thursday's game versus the Bengals.
