The Los Angeles Rams could still be a team to watch for a potential trade for Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby.

The Los Angeles Rams want to be a team that can pounce when the time is right, which could lead them to Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby. LA has been linked to Crosby in trade speculation before. So, the renewed connection is not surprising.

It would be a bold move fitting of an aggressive Rams front office.

It is a front office led by general manager Les Snead. He has openly acknowledged his desire to remain flexible just in case the right situation and target came along. Perhaps one like Crosby.

The Athletic’s Nate Atkins fielded a question from a fan in his latest mailbag regarding the Rams possibly still trading for Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown, which led to alternative targets and, ultimately, Crosby.

Atkins noted his intel is that talks for Brown to join LA are “over.” That is, even if they cannot be ruled out. The New England Patriots loom as the most likely landing spot.

Then, Atkins said he would “keep an eye on Maxx Crosby.”

“He seems to have mended things with the Las Vegas Raiders after the trade to the Baltimore Ravens was reversed,” Atkins wrote on May 7, “but the organization’s approach could change if the Raiders hit another tough start to a season.”

“The Rams want to be one of the rare teams willing to trade from an expectedly loaded 2027 draft class, with the idea that they’ll be picking at the very end of the first round,” Atkins wrote.

“Those conversations are more likely in October than they are right now.”

Les Snead Leaves Door Open for Another Rams Blockbuster Trade

GettyLos Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead has been open about his willingness to trade.

Snead spoke candidly about the Rams’ decision to draft Ty Simpson rather than using the 13th overall pick on a skill player to help Matthew Stafford. He hinted that it actually afforded the Rams more trade flexibility with their QB plan in place.

“We can now maybe use those picks, right, to add different players to chase special with Matthew,” Snead said during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” in April. “Whether it’s through the draft or doing, you know, doing what we did with Trent McDuffie and adding a veteran.”

The Rams surrendered the 29th overall pick of the 2026 draft to the Kansas City Chiefs for McDuffie. Would they surrender a similar package to the Raiders for Crosby?

His health concerns were at least a factor in scaring the Baltimore Ravens off of making a trade.

One of the reasons cited for the Rams’ decision to back out of talks over Brown was concerns about his long-term health. Crosby will likely need to show that he is healthy for trade talks to pick back up.

Atkins noted that it is “quieter right now.” He pointed to current options like Patriots receiver Kayshon Boutte. He also noted that the “calculus will change” as the deadline draws near.

The Rams could certainly pounce then.

Rams on Trade Deadline Watchlist

Davante Adams, Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams

GettyDavante Adams and Puka Nacua both missed time for the Los Angeles Rams in 2025.

Atkins noted the deadline is “the window the Rams are likely gearing up for, as the time between now and then will also bring their needs more into focus — such as the third wide receiver spot.”

“It’ll be interesting to see if they’re willing to make a move for a receiver at that point if Adams and Nacua are healthy and playing great, as the biggest need is probably to protect against either going down, and that can’t happen much after the trade deadline passes.”

Both Adams and Nacua missed time during the 2025 season.

Adams missed the final three games of the regular season, but still led the NFL in touchdown receptions. Nacua, who missed one game, led in receptions.

Still, both finished the postseason healthy. Adding a third receiver in the Rams’ tight end-heavy offense less of a need than upgrading the pass rush with a trade for Crosby. That is even with Byron Young bookending fellow Pro Bowler Jared Verse already.
