After finishing the 2025 NFL season with a record of 9-8 and failing to make the NFL playoffs, the Minnesota Vikings will head into the offseason with a lot of questions to be answered.
Along with potentially needing to find a replacement for defensive coordinator Brian Flores, who is getting a lot of attention as a possible head-coaching candidate for teams around the league, and figuring out whether a change needs to be made at quarterback, the Vikings will have some players hitting NFL free agency, like wide receiver Jalen Nailor.

As part of a talented wide receiver trio that includes stars Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, Nailor was able to have another solid season with the Vikings. The Michigan State product recorded career-high numbers in receptions (29) and receiving yards (444) to go along with four touchdowns.
The 26-year-old wideout has proven to be as durable as they come, playing in all 17 games in consecutive seasons, which makes him that much more valuable heading into free agency.
After the season came to an end for the Vikings this past weekend, Nailor spoke to the media and was asked where his head is at after the 2025 campaign and if he wants to return to Minnesota after four seasons with the team, via Vikingz Fan Page’s X account.
“I don’t know,” Nailor said. “Right now, I’m just getting my body back healthy.”
Then Nailor was asked directly if he’s confident he’ll be back with the Vikings for the 2026 NFL season.
“Just wait and see. See where this offseason is heading. Hopefully I can be back.”
The fourth-year wide receiver made it pretty clear that he would want to return to Minnesota for his fifth campaign.
“Yeah, I wouldn’t mind. Absolutely,” Nailor said.
As of right now, it remains uncertain what the future holds for Nailor heading into the offseason. There’s no doubt he’s proven his worth and could be a hot commodity in free agency, but whether his immediate future is with the Vikings remains to be seen.
J.J. McCarthy Opens Up About Being Vikings Starter in 2026

After getting the best of the Packers in the team’s regular-season finale, McCarthy spoke to the media and was asked whether he believes he has earned the starting job under center for next season in Minnesota.
“After today, maybe,” McCarthy said after the win over the Packers. “Tomorrow, there’s nothing promise. The next day, there’s nothing promise. That’s something I take very seriously. It’s not something that you buy, and you get for the rest of your life. You rent it, you lease it every single day. I’m just trying to make daily deposits to make sure I’m in this house for a long time.”
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out for the Vikings during the NFL offseason, as it isn’t beyond the realm of possibility that the team attempts to bring in a proven veteran at quarterback, giving McCarthy another season to learn as a backup.
