The Minnesota Vikings have found themselves in quite the catch-22 when it comes to WR Jordan Addison.
Addison, although exonerated of chargers, was arrested for the third time in as many off-seasons in January.
ESPN‘s Kevin Seifert shared the details when he was cleared of the charges.
“A misdemeanor trespassing charge against Vikings WR Jordan Addison has been dismissed by Florida state attorney Susan Lopez, according to Hillsborough County court records. The prosecution has been terminated and Addisons’ $500 bond has been ordered to be returned.”
While it is now off of Addison’s plate legally, it is still a point of concern for the Vikings. This wasn’t Addison’s first run-in with the law. He was arrested in 2023 for seeding, and 2024 for a DUI.
Now, the Vikings must make a decision on whether or not to pick up his fifth-year option before May 1st.
Vikings Urged to Move On From Jordan Addison

One opinion has been shared by Garrett Burroughs of Vikings Wire.
His opinion is one that unequivocally calls for the expulsion of Jordan Addison from the Vikings organization. He began by summarizing Addison’s legal troubles.
“The 23-year-old has been arrested three times in as many years and is becoming an off-field issue that might not be worth keeping around. Jordan Addison’s first arrest was in 2023, when he was cited for doing 140 MPH on a Minnesota freeway.
The following offseason, he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and was found sleeping behind the wheel just outside Los Angeles International Airport. Now, just two weeks ago, he was arrested on first-degree misdemeanor trespassing charges.”
He then called for removal of Addison from the football operations in the Twin Cities.
“The answer here is clear: the Minnesota Vikings absolutely have to cut ties with Addison. He is becoming too big a distraction to warrant holding on to.
With him entering a contract year this upcoming season, you definitely cannot extend him, so you need to try to get any trade value out of him while he may still have some. This class of wide receivers in the 2026 NFL Draft is solid, and you can find a talented rookie to step into his role for 2026.”
Could Minnesota Really Move on From Addison?

The Vikings absolutely could move on Jordan Addison with not much of a step back. Addison is, of course, a quality WR2 in the NFl, but he isn’t a superstar.
It wouldn’t be an insurmountable task to replace Jordan Addison, as Minnesota holds the 18th overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. Kevin O’Connell may also be competent enough of a play caller to get around having Addison on the field.
There are free agent options, as well. While a bit older, Jauan Jennings and Rashid Shaheed could provide tantalizing options at the position this offseason.
