With a huge NFC matchup against the Buccaneers looming on Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles got an official injury update on one of their starting cornerbacks. CB Adoree’ Jackson, a former first-round pick, was limited in practice on Friday and is officially doubtful for Sunday’s game with a groin injury.
Jackson has started all three of the Eagles‘ games this season and has 13 tackles and two passes defensed on the year. He’s struggled so far through three games, getting picked on in Week 1 against the Cowboys and targeted in other games, as well. CB Jakorian Bennett, acquired in a trade with the Raiders in August, rotated with Jackson in all three games. However, Bennett was placed on Injured Reserve (IR) earlier this week with an undisclosed injury.
In the absence of Jackson and Bennett, the Eagles will likely turn to third-year CB Kelee Ringo, who entered training camp as the favorite to start. Jackson outplayed him over the summer, and the Eagles traded for Bennett in part because they didn’t trust Ringo to be the primary backup on the outside.
LB Jihaad Campbell (triceps), LB Zack Baun (knee), RT Lane Johnson (stinger), QB Tanner McKee (right thumb), and RB Will Shipley (oblique) were all listed as full participants in Friday’s practice and have no injury designation for the Bucs game. That means they should all play with no restrictions, barring a setback between now and kickoff.
The Philadelphia Eagles Showed a Lot of Grit in Their Comeback Win Over the Rams

On the first drive of the game, Rams QB Matthew Stafford threw a bad pick over the middle of the field to Baun. The Philadelphia Eagles got the ball deep in Rams territory and punched it in to take an early 7-0 lead, converting on several “tush pushes” along the way.
After that, however, Philadelphia’s offense was stick in the mud for the remainder of the half. The Eagles couldn’t get anything going on the ground, the passing game wasn’t in rhythm, and the Rams took a 26-7 lead early in the third quarter.
But then Philadelphia woke up. They started getting WR A.J. Brown involved, running their offense through him, and the defense started getting stops. Thanks to a pair of blocked kicks in the fourth quarter, the Eagles pulled out a near-miraculous comeback win, giving them a major tiebreaker in the NFC playoff race.
The Philadelphia Eagles Face a Huge Game Against the Bucs
Now the Philadelphia Eagles have the chance to secure another big tiebreaker in the NFC. Both the Eagles and the Bucs are 3-0 and lead their respective divisions, and both are favorites to make the playoffs. Both teams are dealing with injuries, though the Bucs are a bit more beat-up than the Eagles.
If the Eagles want to repeat as Super Bowl champions, winning on Sunday would go a long way towards securing the NFC’s No. 1 seed.
