Braswell (oblique) was not listed on Wednesday's injury report. Braswell suffered an oblique injury during the Buccaneers' Week 10 loss to the 49ers. Thanks to the additional rest due to the Week 11 bye, Braswell was able to practice Wednesday without limitations, and barring any setbacks, he should suit up against the Giants on Sunday. The rookie second-round pick has logged 11 tackles (five solo), including 0.5 sacks, through 10 regular-season games.
Hill (ankle) did not participate in the Buccaneers' first official practice of the week Wednesday. Hill was signed from the Bucs' practice squad to the active roster Monday to contribute depth to the secondary. However, he is nursing an ankle injury, which was serious enough for him to be sidelined for Wednesday's practice. If Hill is able to return to practice Thursday and/or Friday, that would give him a chance to suit up against the Giants on Sunday. Hill began the 2024 regular season with the Panthers, and before being released Oct. 18, he registered 32 tackles (20 solo) and one pass defended over six games.
Smith (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Smith suffered a knee injury in the final practice leading up to Tampa Bay's Week 10 clash against San Francisco, and the injury was severe enough for him to be sidelined for that contest. The Buccaneers enjoyed a bye for Week 11, and the additional rest allowed Smith to return to practice Wednesday, albeit in a limited capacity. The rookie third-rounder will have two more chances this week to increase his practice participation ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants.
McCollum (hamstring) was listed as a DNP on Wednesday's injury report. McCollum suffered a hamstring injury during the Buccaneers' Week 10 loss to the 49ers. Even with the additional rest courtesy of the Week 11 bye, McCollum was unable to participate in Wednesday's session, and he will have two more chances to return to practice ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants.
Dean (hamstring) was a full participant Wednesday in the Buccaneers' first official practice of the week. Dean's 21-day practice window to return from injured reserve opened Monday, and the 2019 third-round pick started the week out strong with a full practice Wednesday. If he's able to practice without limitations Thursday and Friday, there's a good chance he would be activated off IR and suit up against the Giants on Sunday. In the five games prior to his hamstring injury suffered in Week 6 against the Saints, Dean logged 42 tackles (32 solo) and four pass defenses.
McMillan (hamstring) was a full practice participant Wednesday. McMillan was listed as active for Tampa Bay's final game before a Week 11 bye, but he was only available in the event of an injury to another player and didn't end up playing any snaps. He should be ready for his normal role two weeks later, facing the Giants on Sunday with fellow wideout Mike Evans (hamstring) expected back in the lineup. McMillan didn't do much even when both Evans and Chris Godwin (IR - ankle) were absent, but the rookie still figures to have a role down the stretch, likely operating as the Bucs' second or third WR.
Evans (hamstring) officially was limited at Wednesday's practice. Coach Todd Bowles relayed to Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site earlier Wednesday that Evans was trending toward a return to action for Sunday's visit to the Giants. A capped showing to begin Week 12 prep indicates Evans will ramp up his workload as the week continues, meaning his activity will be monitored closely to ensure Bowles' thoughts become a reality this weekend. In the end, Evans is seeking his first game action since aggravating a right hamstring strain Week 7 versus the Ravens, which so far has sidelined him for three contests.
