
One of the greatest fights in UFC history will take its rightful place in the UFC Hall of Fame. During tonight’s broadcast, it was announced that Zhang Weili vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk will be inducted into the Fight Wing.
The women’s strawweight title fight took place at UFC 248 in 2020. It was a thrilling back-and-forth bout that saw Weili earn a split decision victory to retain her title.
Both fighters left it all in the octagon and were rightfully celebrated after the fight was over. During the UFC 326 broadcast on CBS, a video package aired, which made the induction official.
Many notable figures, including Dana White and Joe Rogan, reflected on the legendary clash and the atmosphere at T-Mobile Arena that night. White even acknowledged it as one of the greatest fights he had ever seen. That is high praise and carries significant with, considering he has been cageside for many legendary fights.
“I knew that fight was going to be ridiculous. You have these two incredibly talented savages, who wanted that belt more than anything,” White said during the video package. “It’s definitely a Hall of Fame fight, it’s one of the best fight I’ve seen ever.”
Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Zhang Weili Reflect on Their Legendary Title Fight

Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Zhang Weili both reflected on their legendary strawweight title fight. They expressed gratitude for what their opponent brought out of them that night.
Weili noted that their competitiveness and toughness was on full display. She said neither of them took their foot off the gas for the full 25 minutes.
“We both gave it our all until the very end. Neither one of us stopped trying,” Weili said during the video package. “I think the way the two of us fought was amazing. My special thanks to Joanna.”
Jedrzejczyk also described the resilience she showed against Weili. The former strawweight champion refused to quit despite absorbing significant damage.
“So many people would give up, so many people would sit there and say like, ‘I’m not going out,'” Jedrzejczyk said. “Sometimes we are so scared, so afraid, but no matter what, no matter how hard the road is, we should always fight to the end.”
She added: “Me and Weili, we brought the best of each other.”
Jedrzejczyk Becomes Two-Time UFC Hall of Famer
Jedrzejczyk will make history during International Fight Week. The former strawweight champion will become the first female fighter to become a two-time UFC Hall of Famer.
Jedrzejczyk, who retired from MMA in 2022, was inducted into the Modern Wing of the UFC Hall of Fame class of 2024. That well-deserved induction acknowledged her legendary career and record-setting UFC women’s strawweight title reign.
She defeated Carla Esparza at UFC 185 to capture the title and made five successful title defenses.
In addition, Jedrzejczyk set a promotional record for most women’s title fights with 10.
