Before joining Heavy, Giancarlo was an MMA news writer and freelance interviewer for Sportskeeda.com, writing about the latest in the UFC and PFL, and speaking to some of the biggest names past and present.
In addition to Heavy, Giancarlo also provides freelance coverage to SportsBoom and Fighters Only Magazine.
Giancarlo has also worked in radio, producing sports content for Toronto radio station VIBE 105.5FM, interviewing many respected athletes, broadcasters, and celebrities, including Marlon Wayans, Georges St-Pierre, Gianluca Zambrotta, and Donovan Bailey.
Giancarlo’s interviews are featured on ‘The Game Plan’ podcast, which is available on YouTube, wherever you get your podcasts, and Millions.co.
Beyond MMA and NHL coverage, Giancarlo is an experienced soccer journalist, having covered Toronto FC, from 2018-2024, and Inter Toronto FC (formerly York United FC), since their inception, as a full-season reporter.
Education
Giancarlo has a Bachelor's degree with Honours in Communication Studies from York University, where he graduated in 2018.
