Billy on ‘Stranger Things 2’: All About Dacre Montgomery’s Character [PHOTOS]

Netflix

Stranger Things

A new addition to Stranger Things 2 is Billy, played by Dacre Montgomery. He plays Max’s older stepbrother. Max is a redhead who’s joining the younger cast of characters and is also new this season. Billy is described as hot-tempered and a bit of a rebel. (Minor spoilers for Billy below.)

If Billy looks familiar, maybe it’s because Dacre played a Power Ranger before: the Red Ranger to be exact. Dacre has also appeared in Better Watch OutBetrand the Terrible (a short film), The Chateau (a video short), A Few Less Men, and Make Them Suffer: Old Souls (a short).

Dacre’s from Perth, Western Australia. His mother’s Canadian and his dad’s from New Zealand.

Billy

Dacre told Screen Rant about Billy:

He’s a bit of an antagonist to be honest. The reference from these boys over here, the Duffer Brothers, was kind of like Jack Nicholson in the Shining. Somebody with an unpredictable nature. Somebody who sorts of unnerves the audience.

Billy and Max are not natives to Hawkins, so it will be interesting to see how they view this strange town and all the crazy things that happen. Billy moved to Hawkins from California in 1984 and is now attending Hawkins High School. He and Max aren’t necessarily close; he’s been pretty controlling of her in the past.

He’s described as “captivating and edgy” but also violent and unpredictable — but he tries to keep that side of him hidden from most people. There are rumors circulating that he may have killed someone before he moved to Hawkins.

Billy drives a black Camaro, is quite the lady’s man, and a player. He’s described as a “human villain” of the show.
