Four people are reported to have been shot in a gun attack at the Western Forest Products mill in South Nanaimo, British Columbia, reports CHEK News. The shooting was confirmed by city officials. Among the victims are said to be one woman and two men. It happened at around 7 a.m. local time. Initial reports indicate that two of the victims in the shooting have died.

The area around the mill is on total lockdown. Cheryl Johnson, the wife of an employee of Western Forest, told Global News:
[My husband’ called me from work at the mill this morning, and a guy came in with a shotgun and a handgun, and shot [three] people, a woman and two men.

Global News also reports that the entrance to the Nanaimo Port Authority was blocked off.
2. 1 Victim Had to be Airlifted
We do not know the conditions of the wounded. One person was airlifted from the scene at around 8 a.m. local time. All four of the victims have been hospitalized. The Vancouver Sun reports that one person is in critical condition while another is in stable condition. The status of the other two victims is unknown.
3. A Suspect is in Custody
We can confirm that at about 7:00 am this morning we received a 911 call about shots fired at a business in Nanaimo. Our members attended the scene within minutes, entered the building and arrested a suspect believed responsible for the shooting.
It isn’t known if the suspect worked at the facility.
4. The Company is Located in Nanaimo’s Historic Port
Western Forest Products is a lumber company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The mill where the shooting took place is located close to Nanaimo’s port. One Google+ user complimented the view from the company’s building.
5. Cory Montieth Used to Live in the Area
The late Glee actor Cory Monteith lived in Nanaimo.
