Thicke's Death Was Unexpected
The television star Alan Thicke
has died at age 69. TMZ first broke the news, but it has since been confirmed by ABC News. TMZ reported
that Thicke's cause of death was a heart attack. Thicke leaves behind a wife, Tanya, and three sons, Carter, Brennan, and Robin. Robin Thicke, a singer, is a celebrity in his own right. According to TMZ, Alan Thicke died while playing hockey with his son Carter. Fox 6 said
that Thicke's family was planning to donate his organs and that a company had been contacted to that regard. Alan Thicke was a popular television actor, who was best known for his role as father Jason Seaver on the 1980s television program, Growing Pains. His son Robin later took over the mantle of celebrity with hit singles. Thicke also starred in a modern version of Full House.
Thicke's death was unexpected; he had even tweeted as recently as Tuesday afternoon, writing about
starring in the second season of Full House. Thicke was pronounced dead at a hospital, where he was taken around noon on December 13, but the news of his death did not break until Tuesday evening.
