The casual golf fan probably never heard of Andrew Landry until the opening round of the 2016 U.S. Open.

The 28-year-old isn’t highly-ranked in the World Golf Rankings, is outside of the top 200 in the FedExCup Standings and doesn’t have a finish above a tie for 41st this year on the PGA Tour.

And now Landry is playing in the final group Sunday with Shane Lowry at Oakmont Country Club.

Here’s what you need to know about Landry:

1. Landry is Ranked 624th in the World

As mentioned above, Landry isn’t exactly a household name, but he’s looking to change that with a fast start at the U.S. Open, his first-ever major appearance.

In the Official World Golf Rankings, Landry came into Oakmont at No. 624, that’s 55 spots behind Tiger Woods.

As for the FedExCup Standings, Landry is ranked 202nd.

2. He’s Got 3 Professional Wins

Landry has only played 12 career PGA Tour events (11 in 2016 and 1 in 2015) with 5 made cuts.

All of those made cuts have come in his past 6 events. And he’s coming off his best finish on the Tour, a tie for 41st at the FedEx St. Jude Classic.

Landry does, though, have three career professional victories.

Since turning pro in 2009, Landry won the 2012 Cypresswood Open and the 2014 Bay Oaks Open on the Adams Pro Tour, and then got the biggest win of his career at the 2015 Cartagena de Indias at Karibana Championship on the Web.com Tour.

For his career, he has made $192,967 on the Web.com Tour and $69,130 this season on the PGA.

3. Landry is One of the Better Drivers on the Tour

Despite limited appearances on the Tour, Landry ranks well in a number of statistical categories.

Here’s a few that he stands out in:

Strokes Gained: Off-the-tee — 11th
Strokes Gained: Putting — 12th
Total Driving — 22nd
Scrambling — 27th
Driving Accuracy Percentage — 42nd
Driving Distance — 86th (289.9 yards)

4. He Stands 5-Foot-7

With a nearly 290 yard average, Landry can obviously “drive for show.”

And he does that despite not being the biggest guy on the Tour.

Landry stands 5-foot-7 and tips the scales at roughly 150 pounds.

Tony Finau, who leads the PGA Tour in driving distance, is 6-4, 200 pounds.

5. Landry was an All-SEC Performer in College

Landry was born in Port Neches-Grove, Texas, a small city in the southeast part of the state near the Louisiana border.

He left Texas to play college golf for Arkansas, where he was named All-SEC second team after his sophomore year.

Landry played in the SEC at the same time as PGA pros Billy Horschel (Florida) and Hudson Swafford (Georgia).

He graduated in 2009 with a degree in Communications.
