Eduard Bazardo: Everything you need to know

Bazardo got his first win of the season Sunday when he pitched 1.1 scoreless innings with one strikeout in the 3-2 win over the Cardinals. Bazardo was a revelation out of the bullpen for the Mariners last season ending the year with 73 appearances and a 2.52 ERA and a 82:27 K:BB over 78.2 frames. The right-hander already has appeared in 13 games so far in 2026 despite a bullpen that boasts a lot of big names such as Anthony Munoz and Gabe Speier. So far, Bazardo has been thrown into high-leverage situations accumulating three holds and a win and a loss this season.

Bazardo picked up a hold Saturday against Houston, allowing two hits and striking out two in two-thirds of an inning. That makes it 11 consecutive scoreless outings for Bazardo, who's been a key part of the Seattle bullpen all year long. The right-hander has a 2.34 ERA, a career-best 0.96 WHIP and 79:26 K:BB over 77 frames. While Bazardo had zero holds in his career entering 2025, he has 12 of them this year.

Bazardo threw a scoreless eighth inning Saturday against the Athletics, allowing no hits and one walk with no strikeouts. That's now seven consecutive scoreless appearances for Bazardo, who's given up just three runs over his past 16 outings. The right-hander has been very effective out of Seattle's bullpen since the start of June, turning in a 1.73 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 38:14 K:BB across his last 36.1 innings.
