On Tuesday night, the Seattle Mariners will play the second game of their series with the Athletics (at home).

They are coming off a 6-4 loss (on Monday).

Mariners Player Acquired By New MLB Team

Before Tuesday’s game, the Mariners announced that one of their players had been claimed off waivers by the Colorado Rockies.

Mariners PR wrote: “RHP Blas Castaño claimed off waivers by the Colorado Rockies.”

Castaño appeared in one game for Seattle last season.

Rockies Club Information wrote: “The Rockies announced today that they have claimed RHP Blas (BLASS) Castaño (cah-stah-no) off waivers from the Seattle Mariners and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.

To make room on the 40-man roster, LHP Luis Peralta has been designated for assignment.”

Castaño has been good in Triple-A this season, going 3-1 with a 1.42 ERA in six games.

The 27-year-old will be an intriguing addition to the Rockies organization.

Mariners And Rockies Right Now

The Mariners are currently the fourth-place team in the American League West with a 10-14 record in 24 games.

They are 9-6 in the 15 games they have played at home in Seattle.

Following the Athletics, the Mariners will play their next series on Friday night when they visit the St. Louis Cardinals.

On the other side, the Rockies are currently the last-place team in the National League West with a 9-14 record in 23 games.

They will open up a series with the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night in Denver.

At home, the Rockies have gone 6-4 in ten games.
