
During their series against the Cleveland Guardians, the New York Mets released a seven-year MLB veteran from their organization.

Arroyo signed a minor-league deal with the Mets on Jan. 6.
The Mets released Arroyo on June 1, then signed him to a new minor-league deal one day later.
Arroyo, 31, has slashed .278/.331/.435 with eight home runs and 45 RBI over 66 games at the Triple-A level this season.

The San Francisco Giants selected Arroyo in the first round (No. 25 overall) of the 201 MLB Draft out of high school.
Arroyo made his MLB debut with the Giants in 2017. He appeared in just 34 games in his rookie season.
On Dec. 20, 2017, the Giants traded Arroyo, outfielder Denard Span, left-hander Matt Krook and right-hander Stephen Woods to the Tampa Bay Rays for third baseman Evan Longoria and cash.

Arroyo appeared in just 36 games across two seasons (2018-19) with Tampa Bay.
On July 28, 2019, the Rays traded Arroyo and right-hander Hunter Wood to the Cleveland Indians (now Guardians) for outfielder Ruben Cardenas and future considerations.

Arroyo played in just one game for the Guardians before being designated for assignment on Aug. 6, 2020. The Boston Red Sox claimed him off waivers one week later.
The infielder appeared in 224 games for the Red Sox from 2020-23. With Boston, the infielder posted 2.2 bWAR and a .264/.306/.411 slash line with 18 home runs and 93 RBI.

During the 2021 postseason with the Red Sox, Arroyo went 9-for-28 with one home run, one double, one triple and three RBI across 11 games.
Arroyo hasn’t appeared in an MLB game since 2023 with the Red Sox.
