UFC 120 Official For October 16 With Bisping vs. Akiyama

The UFC is heading back to England and back to Spike TV with the now-official UFC 120 at the famous O2 Arena in London, England on October 16.

Spike TV officials made the announcement today, confirming that UFC 120 will air live and free on Spike, along with the announcement of several bouts that are set to make up the evening’s card.

The main event slot of the event features a middleweight tilt between British superstar Michael Bisping and Yoshihiro Akiyama. In the co-main event bout, former top contender in the UFC welterweight division Dan Hardy will match up against former WEC welterweight title holder Carlos Condit.

Making up the rest of the main card, British welterweight prospect John Hathaway, fresh off his dominant victory over Diego Sanchez, will take on Mike Pyle, while a lightweight bout between “Ultimate Fighter Season 9” winner James Wilks and Frenchman Claude Patrick will be the opener for the Spike broadcast.

As a part of the preliminary action, Spike officials have also announced that heavyweights Cheick Kongo and Travis Browne will lock horns, while Cyrille Diabate vs. Alexander Gustafson and Stanislav Nedkov vs. Steve Cantwell will also be included in the October event’s preliminary card.

The remaining preliminary card slots have yet to be filled, but rumors are circulating that lightweight Spencer Fisher and light heavyweight James McSweeney will each participate on the undercard.
