Bayer Leverkusen are fighting for their lives in Champions League group play, and face a tall task today needing points against Barcelona. Bayer is tied on points with Italian side Roma, and is on the wrong side of a head-to-head tiebreaker.
Barcelona has breezed to the top spot in Group E, and will tweak their lineup to reflect the lack of urgency. Andres Iniesta and Gerard Pique did not make the trip to Germany, and Neymar will likely sit after tweaking a muscle in practice.
Expect lots of pressing for Leverkusen, who have gotten great form from Javier Hernandez but have lost three of their last five Bundesliga matches. They haven’t won a Champions League match since Matchday One.
Today’s game will be available on Fox Sports One in the US at 2:45 p.m. Eastern. Because of an agreement between FOX and ESPN, the game will be available on both streaming platforms (WatchESPN & Fox Sports GO).
