Instead United have responded, and could possibly pull within two points of the top four with a revenge win over the Potters today. The spark has been Wayne Rooney, who has scored six goals in his last six games in all competitions. Rooney has scored three goals in his last two home matches against Stoke, who have lost all seven of their Premier League visits to Old Trafford.
