It is quite a basketball family for Duke’s Cameron Boozer and twin brother Cayden Boozer. The Duke twins‘ dad Carlos Boozer is a former NBA All-Star.
Carlos was born in Germany but calls Juneau, Alaska, home, a place where he spent a good portion of his childhood. The Boozer twins also have an older brother Carmani Boozer.
Cameron and Cayden’s mom CeCe Boozer was also quite the athlete with experience playing college volleyball. The twins’ father was a standout player at Duke but insists that he did not influence their decision to follow in his footsteps.
“No, I didn’t force it on them at all,” Carlos noted during a March 26, 2026, interview on “The Rich Eisen Show.” “They chose it on their own. They went through the entire recruiting process.
“They met all the coaches. They went on their official visits, and they decided to play together and play at Duke. And I was obviously extremely happy about that. It’s obviously worked out pretty well for them. But they went through the process on their own and did a hell of a job making a good choice.”
Here’s what you need to know about the Boozer family.
Cameron & Cayden Boozer’s Mom CeCe to Duke Twins: ‘You Have Grown Into Amazing Young Men’
The Boozer twins’ mom CeCe knows a thing or two about competition. CeCe is an entrepreneur, but this has not stopped her from being a regular at Duke games. As Cayden and Cameron graduated high school in 2025, CeCe took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message to her favorite twins.
“Graduation Day!!!! I am so proud of your journey these past 4 years,” CeCe said in a May 18, 2025, Instagram post. “You have both been amazing students while accomplishing your goals on the basketball court simultaneously.
“You have grown into amazing young men. Today closes a chapter on (high school) and opens the door for the next part of your journey in college. I pray that God guides your steps and you put him first in all you do.”
Cameron Boozer on NBA Dad Carlos Boozer: ‘It’s Kind of Hard to Get Your Way Out of That Shadow’
During an interview with Front Office Sports, Cameron opened up about being the son of a former NBA star. Cameron’s dad Carlos started 775 NBA games and is a former All-NBA player.
The Duke star admitted it can be challenging being in his father’s “shadow.” One thing that has helped is playing alongside his brother Cayden.
“My father played in the NBA,” Cameron explained to Front Office Sports. “He was a national champion. It’s kind of hard to get your way out of that shadow and build your own story.
“I’d say eighth grade summer is when I realized, like, this could be something real for me when I got my first Division I offer. There’s always gonna be uncertainty, but being able to play on the same team. Being able to look to the other side of the court and you see your brother in the same jersey as you.”
One thing the entire Boozer family is hoping for is that Duke can make a run to the Final Four. Following in their dad’s footsteps as a national champion would be a great end to Cameron and Cayden’s season.
