The San Francisco Giants are returning home this week after a tough series against the Boston Red Sox over the weekend.

To begin the new week of baseball, the Giants are welcoming the Cincinnati Reds to Oracle Park for a three-game set.

Before the series opener with the Reds, Giants’ manager Tony Vitello has decided to make a slight Jung Hoo Lee lineup change.

For the Reds series opener, Jung Hoo Lee will bat third and be the Designated Hitter for the San Francisco Giants.

On Sunday, Lee batted sixth and played RF. He has played right field for the last 5+ games, so Vitello is giving him a day off his feet in the outfield.

Here is the full San Francisco Giants lineup for 8/24, per @UnderdogMLB:

Giants 8/24: “D. Gilbert CF R. Devers 1B J. Hoo Lee DH T. Hill LF D. Cavanaugh C N. Furman 2B S. Whitcomb 3B G. McCray RF C. Koss SS C. Whisenhunt SP”

The Giants are out of playoff contention, so they will start giving more players opportunities to finish out the season. On Monday, the Giants announced several roster moves (10 to be exact), which were headlined by Willy Adames heading to the 10-day IL and Bryce Eldridge going on the Bereavement List.

It’s plausible to think that Willy Adames’ season could be over with his elbow issue.

Jung Hoo Lee has played 119 games with the Giants this season, and he’s batting .289 over 454 at-bats.

He’s added nine home runs, four triples, 27 doubles, 131 hits, and 58 runs to the Giants’ offense. Lee’s OPS+ is also 112 in 2026.

The Giants decided to ink Jung Hoo Lee to a six-year, $113 million contract during the 2024 season, and the deal runs through 2029. He’s played 306 total games with the Giants over three seasons and carries a bWAR of 3.0.
