Eldridge went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Diamondbacks. Eldridge hit an RBI double in the second inning to give San Francisco an early 2-1 lead, albeit in a losing effort. The 21-year-old's two-bagger was just his second extra-base hit of the season. Eldridge has logged at least one hit in each of his last two appearances and is now slashing .156/.229/.281 with two RBI, a run scored and a home run across 35 plate appearances on the campaign.

Bryson Eldridge: Breaking News
Will remain in mix for at-bats
Manger Tony Vitello stated Monday that Eldridge will receive a chance to pinch hit in every game that he isn't listed in the starting lineup, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Eldridge isn't in the starting nine for a second straight game, as San Francisco is electing to deploy Casey Schmitt at first base and Rafael Devers in the designated hitter slot for Monday's series opener against the Dodgers. However, Vitello acknowledged that Eldridge will remain in contention for starts, and the club will also utilize his power bat off the bench in late-game situations as needed in an effort to continue his development.
On bench for second time in series
Eldridge is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates. Eldridge smacked a solo home run in Saturday's 13-3 loss, but he's otherwise made a limited impact since being promoted from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday. Through his first four games with the Giants, Eldridge has gone 2-for-13 with a 1:4 BB:K and no extra-base hits beyond the home run. Eldridge will hit the bench for the second time in three games, and he looks like he may have to share the designated-hitter spot with Casey Schmitt until his production warrants a larger role.
