He had the top score Sunday night’s qualifiers on February 15 and carried that drive into the finals. Norway’s Tormod Frostad, however, surpassed him at the end.
“The second-place score for Forehand came in at 193.25 after putting down three clean runs,” U.S. Ski and Snowboard notes in a Tuesday, February 17 feature. “Edging him out to win gold was Norway’s Tormod Frostad with a score of 195.50 and rounding out the podium with the bronze medal was Matej Svancer from Austria with a 191.25.”

Who Are Mac Forehand’s Parents? They’ve Both Supportive of His Career
Forehand’s parents are Ray and Anne Marie Forehand. They’ve been supportive and instrumental in his skiing journey, and they’ve also cheered on his older sister Savannah, who skis.
“Actually, Forehand’s parents originally wanted him to be a ski racer, but as a kid he found it too boring,” NBC Sports notes. “He was more interested in following the path of his older sister, Savannah, who at the time was participating in a weekend moguls program at Stratton Mountain in Vermont.”
NBC Sports adds, “So Forehand went into mogul skiing and grew to love it — especially doing tricks. This made it no surprise that he found his way to free skiing, a trick-focused sport that originally emerged as an offshoot of traditional freestyle disciplines such as moguls.”
He Got His Start on the Slopes in New England
“Mac honed his two plank skills on the hardpack of New England,” Red Bull’s official website states. “He started skiing at Stratton Mountain in Vermont when he was around three years old, driving up on weekends with his family, his parents incredibly supportive of his affinity for the alpine.”
They add, “He started competing on the weekend race team before joining his sister in the mogul field, navigating the bumps in USSA events, and further developing lightning-fast reflexes and quick response on his skis. But the park was where Mac really found his rhythm.”

Forehand is 24, and he’s been a competitive skier since he was a teenager. His first trip to the Olympics was in 2022 in Beijing in 2022, but he didn’t medal there. So, his silver medal in Milan-Cortina is his first Olympic medal.
