The 2026 Winter Olympics delivered historic performances and breakout stars, from Jordan Stolz in speed skating to Ilia Malinin leading Team USA in figure skating. With the Winter Games now complete, attention turns to the next Olympic events and where they will be held.

Here is a look at the confirmed Olympic schedule through 2034.


The Next Summer Olympics: Los Angeles 2028

Dates: July 21 to August 6, 2028

Opening Ceremony: July 14, 2028

The next Olympic Games will take place in Los Angeles in 2028. It will mark the first time the Summer Olympics return to the United States since Atlanta hosted in 1996.

While Los Angeles will serve as the main host city, several events will take place outside California. Softball and canoe slalom will be held in Oklahoma City. Soccer matches will be played in cities including New York, Columbus, Nashville, and St. Louis.

The 2028 Games will bring the Olympic spotlight back to Southern California, with venues spread across the Los Angeles region.


The Next Winter Olympics: French Alps 2030

Dates: February 1 to February 17, 2030

The next Winter Olympics will be held in the French Alps in 2030. France previously hosted the Winter Games in 1924, 1968, and 1992.

French Alps 2030 organizers plan to use mostly existing or temporary venues. According to the International Olympic Committee, approximately 93 percent of competition sites are expected to be existing or temporary structures, pending final confirmation.

Venues will be spread across Haute-Savoie, Savoie, Briançon, and Nice. Seven core sports are expected to be included: biathlon, bobsleigh, curling, ice hockey, luge, skatin,g and skiing.

“The decision on all disciplines and any additional sports will now be taken in June 2026, alongside events and athlete quotas,” the IOC explained.


2032 Summer Olympics: Brisbane, Australia

Dates: July 23 to August 8, 2032

The 2032 Summer Olympics will take place in Brisbane, Australia.

Organizers launched a nationwide consultation process to develop the Games Vision, gathering input from communities across the country. The resulting vision focuses on three pillars: Believe, Belong, and Become.

The framework is designed to guide preparations and delivery of the Games, with organizers stating it will help inspire and unify efforts leading up to the Opening Ceremony.

Brisbane will host both the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2032.


2034 Winter Olympics: Salt Lake City, Utah

Dates: February 10 to February 26, 2034

The 2034 Winter Olympics will return to Salt Lake City, which previously hosted the Games in 2002.

Utah 2034 organizers plan to reuse ten of the thirteen competition venues from the 2002 Games. All venues will be located within one hour of the Olympic Village.

Events will primarily take place in Salt Lake City, with additional competitions in Park City, Soldier Hollow, Snowbasin, and Provo.

Organizers state their goal is to build on the 2002 legacy while extending the benefits of hosting to a new generation of athletes and communities.
