According to NBC Olympics, “Liu first stepped onto the ice at age five, when her father, inspired by legends like Michelle Kwan and Kristi Yamaguchi, thought the activity may be good for his energetic daughter. What began as recreational skating lessons quickly evolved into a competitive pursuit.”
They add of her talent, “At age 12, she was competing against much older skaters and consistently holding her own. Those early years laid the foundation for a swift rise to the top that few could have predicted.”

So, when does Isabeau Levito skate? She’ll take the ice at 4:27 p.m. Eastern time. All three U.S. skaters are in the final group, so they’re all going towards the end of the competition.
“It is insane to have the opportunity to represent the country like that and to be one of the top three skaters to be sent is crazy,” she says of being at the 2026 Winter Olympics, according to NBC Philadelphia.
Her family is from Italy, so it’s a full circle moment. “Insane how, yes, I have family from Italy, but Milan specifically is where my family is from,” said Levito. “I think it’s cool to be going to the Olympics in a place where I don’t feel like much of a foreigner.”
