The New England Patriots received another concerning injury update along their offensive line during Sunday’s matchup against the New York Jets.
Veteran right tackle Morgan Moses suffered an ankle injury, leaving his availability for the remainder of the Oct. 18 game uncertain.
ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported the team’s announcement on X.
“Patriots injury announcement: OT Morgan Moses, ankle, questionable to return,” Reiss wrote.
The development threatens to disrupt an offensive line that had dealt with significant injury concerns entering Week 6.
Moses, 35, is in the second season of a three-year, $24 million contract he signed with New England in March 2025.
His injury is particularly concerning given the uncertainty surrounding fellow starting tackle Will Campbell, who injured his knee during New England’s 45-17 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 11.
Patriots: More Offensive Line Injury Concerns

The Patriots entered Sunday’s AFC East matchup having received encouraging news about Campbell, who was officially active despite carrying a questionable designation throughout the week.
Campbell had avoided a major knee injury against Las Vegas, although his status remained uncertain until shortly before kickoff.
According to Patriots.com writer Evan Lazar, Campbell and running back TreVeyon Henderson were both cleared to play against New York.
But that’s no more, as the Patriots have a tackle situation to monitor once again.
Moses had battled a foot injury earlier this season, including during New England’s Week 3 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The veteran was questionable ahead of the Patriots’ subsequent game against Buffalo.
In an Oct. 3 assessment, Lazar noted that Moses had allowed three quarterback pressures against Jacksonville while appearing limited by the foot issue.
The right tackle’s durability has otherwise been one of his defining traits throughout his NFL career.
Moses started all 21 games for New England during the 2025 regular season and postseason, playing more than 95% of the team’s offensive snaps.
Losing that experience would press a challenge for an offensive line tasked with keeping quarterback Drake Maye protected.
Patriots Have 1st-Round Pick Available as Possible Replacement

Should Moses remain sidelined, the Patriots have an intriguing replacement option in rookie tackle Caleb Lomu.
New England selected Lomu with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, envisioning him as a potential long-term successor to Moses at right tackle.
The Utah product was pressed into action at left tackle against Las Vegas after Campbell suffered his knee injury.
Lomu’s versatility gives the Patriots an option on either side of their offensive line, although another appearance would present a different challenge against New York’s defense.
The rookie already gained experience replacing Moses earlier this season. According to Lazar’s analysis, Lomu played the final 20 offensive snaps at right tackle during New England’s loss to Jacksonville.
The Patriots are also navigating limited tackle depth after opting against activating second-year lineman Marcus Bryant from injured reserve.
Bryant returned to practice Wednesday, Oct. 14, but remained on injured reserve when New England finalized its roster moves Saturday.
Meanwhile, rookie tackle Dametrious Crownover was among the team’s inactive players against the Jets.
That leaves Lomu especially important if Moses is unable to return.
The Patriots entered Sunday’s matchup riding consecutive victories over Buffalo and Las Vegas, having scored 74 combined points in those contests.
Maintaining that offensive momentum becomes considerably more challenging if New England is forced into another adjustment at tackle.
Moses’ status remains worth monitoring as the Patriots attempt to secure their third consecutive victory.
