Latest Suns News
Bol Bol : Logs two minutes in Game 2 loss
Bol finished with two rebounds in two minutes during Tuesday's 105-93 loss to Minnesota in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals. Bol managed just two minutes during garbage time, continuing his disappointing season. Despite his reputation in many fantasy circles, Bol is simply not that good. At this point, there is no reason to think he will ever be anything more than a per-minute specialist with very little upside when it comes to sustainable playing time.
Bradley Beal : Passive performance Tuesday
Beal posted 14 points (6-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four rebounds and six assists across 42 minutes during Tuesday's 105-93 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals. Beal was relatively quiet in the loss, much like his teammates. Despite keeping it close, the Suns were simply overwhelmed by the Timberwolves, both inside and outside the paint. Now trailing 2-0 in the series, Phoenix will look to get back on track Friday when they host Game 3.
Jusuf Nurkic : Double-doubles in loss
Nurkic finished with 10 points (5-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-2 FT), 14 rebounds and four assists over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 105-93 loss to Minnesota in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals. Nurkic grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds to go with 10 points, tallying his first double-double of the series. While he was more involved, the Suns still came up short, falling behind 2-0 in the series. Game 3 will be in Phoenix on Friday, where Nurkic will look to be even more of a force on the interior against the size of the Timberwolves.
Grayson Allen : Avoids serious injury
Frank Vogel said Tuesday that X-rays came back negative on Allen's right ankle, and he should be considered day-to-day, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports. Allen has dealt with a right ankle injury through the first two games of the series against Minnesota and should be considered questionable for Game 3 on Friday. If Allen is unable to suit, Eric Gordon and Royce O'Neale will likely receive increased playing time.
Grayson Allen : Won’t return Tuesday
Allen has been ruled out for the remainder of Tuesday's Game 2 against the Timberwolves due to a right ankle injury. He will end the contest with three points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3Pt), three rebounds and one steal in 17 minutes. Allen will sit out the remainder of Game 2 after landing awkwardly on Timberwolves guard Mike Conley early in the third quarter. Allen has been held to just seven total points across the first two games of the series while dealing with an ankle injury. Allen's availability for Game 3 on Friday is uncertain.
Grayson Allen : Tweaks ankle Tuesday
Allen left Tuesday's Game 2 against the Timberwolves with 9:17 remaining in the third quarter due to an apparent right ankle injury, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports. Allen landed awkwardly on Timberwolves guard Mike Conley and appeared to re-aggravate the right ankle injury that he suffered in Game 1. If Allen is unable to return, Eric Gordon, Royce O'Neale and Josh Okogie are candidates to receive increased playing time.
Grayson Allen : Good to go for Game 2
Allen (ankle) is available for Tuesday's Game 2 against the Timberwolves, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports. Allen has been upgraded from questionable to available Tuesday despite dealing with a right ankle sprain. The 28-year-old guard failed to make a three in Game 1 but shot 46.1 percent on 5.9 three-point attempts per contest during the regular season. Allen won't operate on a minutes restriction.
Grayson Allen : Questionable for Tuesday
Coach Frank Vogel said Allen (ankle) was a limited participant during Monday's practice and is questionable for Game 2 against the Timberwolves on Tuesday, Kellan Olson of ArizonaSports.com reports. Allen tallied four points (0-3 3Pt) and five rebounds in 25 minutes before leaving the Game 1 loss with a sprained right ankle. X-rays returned negative, and the sharpshooter could at least do parts of Monday's practice, both positive signs. However, his availability will likely come down to a game-time decision.
