Oso Ighodaro: Breaking News

Ighodaro ended with eight points (4-5 FG), eight rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals in 34 minutes during Monday's 131-122 loss to the Thunder in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. With Mark Williams (foot) out for the postseason, Ighodaro stepped into a larger role for the Suns to close out the campaign. During the regular season, the second-year center appeared in all 82 games and was a staple in the rotation with averages of 6.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks in 22.0 minutes per contest.

Ighodaro recorded zero points (0-3 FG), nine rebounds and three assists across 26 minutes during Sunday's 119-84 loss to the Thunder in Game 1 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Ighodaro remained in the starting lineup after Mark Williams was once again ruled out due to a foot concern. However, the good news ends there, with Ighodaro failing to score despite playing 26 minutes. Phoenix was completely outplayed on both ends of the floor, a trend that is going to be hard to buck. If Williams is to miss further time, Ighodaro will certainly need to provide more, should the Suns have any hope against the rampaging Thunder.

Ighodaro provided 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 26 minutes during Friday's 111-96 Play-In Game win over Golden State. With Mark Williams (foot) sidelined, Ighodaro moved back into the starting lineup. Although he was able to chip in across the board, it was far from a dominant performance. Phoenix will now face Oklahoma City in the first round of the playoffs. Assuming Williams is cleared to return, expect to see Ighodaro coming off the bench, likely playing around 23 minutes per night.
