According to the Yale Daily News, Naturman didn’t perform much standup while he was in college. In fact, he claims that his Ivy League education hasn’t really helped him further his comedy career.
2. He Went to Fordham Law But Has Never Practiced Law
When Naturman attended Fordham Law in NYC, he began attending stand-up comedy shows. He performed at a lot of open mic-nights to feel out the field and see whether it was something he wanted to pursue. After graduating, he decided to take up comedy full-time. He says his grades were bad anyways, so it wasn’t too big of a deal.
3. He Has Appeared On The Late Show with David Letterman
Along with performing on The Late Show with David Letterman, Naturman has made appearances on The Tonight Show and Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
Stand Up NY writes,
Dan’s endearing, self-deprecating wit has earned him fans around the country.
Naturman also came out with a comedy album called “Get Off My Property” that received “widespread critical praise”.
4. He Was a Contestant On Last Comic Standing
Drew Carey was a huge fan of Naturman, but he was unfortunately not selected as one of the final contestants. Jokers Updates says that everyone in the audience and at home was bummed to see Naturman get voted off the comedy series, as he was one of three of the twenty comedians who got standing ovations from the audience following his act.
After his dismissal from the show, Drew Carey, Anthony Clark, and Brett Butler reportedly “ripped off their microphones in disgust and complained about it to the producers and the press.”
5. He Wants To Do Movies
In 2004, Naturman had a interview with Jokes Updates.
Q: What would you like to be doing in 5 years?
A: I would love to be doing movies.
He may not have appeared in movies yet, but AGT isn’t a bad gig to be succeeding in.
