Polk was one of New England's standouts at June minicamp, according to Phil Perry of NBC Sports. It sounds like he mostly caught passes from Jacoby Brissett, but there was also a rookie-to-rookie connection on the final play of minicamp when Drake Maye hit Polk for a practice-ending touchdown. Polk reportedly has been quick to learn OC Alex Van Pelt's playbook, and Perry suggests that Patriots brass believes the rookie has high-end physical skills (even though his combine workout numbers were mediocre, including a 4.52 40). While many viewed Polk as a draft reach at 37th overall, he's got a nice opportunity to earn immediate playing time in a New England offense where all the WR roles seem up for grabs.

Latest Patriots News
Ja'Lynn Polk : Thrives at minicamp
Raekwon McMillan : Past Achilles injury
McMillan (Achilles) was spotted working on during the Patriots' mandatory minicamp session Wednesday, Doug Kyed of The Boston Herald reports. McMillan missed all of the Patriots' 2023 campaign after partially tearing his Achilles before the season, but it now seems as if he's back at full health. The Ohio State product appeared in 16 games and made 35 total tackles in 2022, and he's expected to compete for another depth role in New England's linebacker corps going into next season.
Kayshon Boutte : Finishes up minicamp strong
Boutte turned in a strong effort during Wednesday's mandatory minicamp session, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports. On the last day of minicamp practice prior to the Patriots' summer break, Boutte logged a team-high five catches during team drills, which Lazar notes included a sequence in which the 2023 sixth-rounder reeled in three consecutive scores. As the coming season approaches, Boutte will have to compete with the likes of JuJu Smith-Schuster, K.J. Osborn, Tyquan Thornton and Jalen Reagor for slotting in a wideout corps that also includes Kendrick Bourne, who's bouncing back from a knee injury, as well as likely roster locks in the youthful trio of DeMario Douglas, Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker. Additionally, it's possible that Boutte could face NFL discipline stemming from his January arrest and subsequent charges of computer fraud and gaming prohibited for persons under 21.
Davon Godchaux : Seeks new contract
Coach Jerod Mayo said Wednesday that Godchaux is negotiating for a new contract, Michael Giardi of NFL Network reports. Mayo said that Godchaux was present at practice Monday, but that he didn't participate. Godchaux has suited up for a full slate of 17 regular-season games in each of his three seasons with the Patriots, never playing less than 600 defensive snaps in that span. He's currently entering the final year of his deal with the team.
Rhamondre Stevenson : Closing in on contract extension
Stevenson said Monday on the first day of mandatory minicamp that he and the Patriots are "pretty close" to terms on a new contract extension, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Stevenson said he's "trying to get the deal done and get it locked in" and that ongoing offseason negotiations are "not frustrating, but it's just a long process." As Stevenson enters the fourth and final year of his rookie contract, New England is looking ahead to a new era under coach Jerod Mayo, with quarterbacks Jacoby Brissett and Drake Maye atop the depth chart. Keeping Stevenson under contract long-term would provide the team some stability on offense, especially with Ja'Lynn Polk, K.J. Osborn and Javon Baker also representing new additions to the wide receiver room. Mayo called Stevenson "one of the better backs in the league" this spring and said "he is our starting running back," though the team did also bring in Antonio Gibson on a three-year, $11.25 million contract this offseason to act as a complementary backfield option.
Matthew Judon : Present for minicamp
Judon (biceps) was in attendance for the Patriots' mandatory minicamp Monday, Hayden Bird of the Boston Globe reports. Judon suffered a torn biceps tendon this past October, limiting him to four games last year, but he's since recovered from the injury to the point that he's in line to be a full participant in this week's minicamp, per Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston. During his last full campaign, the linebacker racked up 60 tackles and 15.5 sacks in 17 regular-season games in 2022. Now that he's back in action, Judon is set to remain a key pass-rushing presence in New England's defense, a role that lands the 31-year-old back on the IDP radar in 2024.
Jacoby Brissett : Earns praise of offensive coordinator
Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt noted Tuesday that Brissett has had an "exceptional spring" while showing "great command of the offense," Mike Reiss of ESPN reports. While Drake Maye, who the team selected third overall in April's draft, has made a favorable impression on New England's coaching staff to date, Van Pelt reiterated that at this time, Brissett remains the starter as next week's mandatory minicamp approaches. Though Maye is destined to rise to the top of the depth chart down the road, Van Pelt has stressed that there's no timetable for that eventuality, noting that "it's a process. It's a marathon. We're going to take our time and do it the right way." In the meantime, Brissett figures to continue to handle the bulk of first-team practice reps followed by Maye, with Bailey Zappe and rookie Joe Milton also in the Patriots' signal-caller mix.
JaQuae Jackson : Inks deal with New England
The Patriots signed Jackson on Thursday. The Rutgers product has found a home in New England after he was dropped by the Falcons just two days ago. Jackson went undrafted this past April and will now compete for a depth role in the Patriots' wide receiver room as the offseason progresses.
