Jennings is slated to be released by the Patriots, Mike Reiss of ESPN reports. Jennings departs New England as the team's longest tenured player, as Reiss reports, having played for a trio of head coaches during his time with the team. The Patriots create roughly $3.8 million in salary cap space with his release. Now heading into his age-29 season, Jennings will likely find a home elsewhere in the league as a rotational pass rusher.

Healthy scratch

Jennings (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Titans. Jennings missed the Week 6 win against the Saints with an ankle injury but is a healthy scratch for Sunday's matchup. The linebacker contributed 20 defensive snaps in Week 4 and 22 in Week 5 prior to his ankle issue, and he had a similar special teams presence as well. With Jennings' status confirmed for Sunday, Jahlani Tavai could continue to see more defensive snaps as a reserve linebacker.

Will suit up at Tennessee
