Matt Lombardo covers the NFL for Heavy.com, with a focus on the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers.

A seasoned sports reporter and multimedia host with over a decade of experience, he currently covers the NFL for FanBuzz, and previously served as FanSided's national NFL insider and host of "The Matt Lombardo Show" podcast, prior to joining Heavy in 2022.

Additionally, Lombardo is a frequent On-Air Contributor for FOX 29 Sports in Philadelphia.

As an eastern Pennsylvania native, Lombardo's roots are deeply tied to the Philadelphia pro sports scene. He covered the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and Sixers for NJ Advance Media (NJ.com) on a daily basis from 2014 to 2020, as well as the New York Giants beats for two years.

Lombardo's on-air talent has also been featured from his experience as a sports talk radio host on Philadelphia's 97.5 The Fanatic, 97.3 ESPN FM radio, and 1520 WCHE AM.

Education

Matt Lombardo earned a bachelor's degree in communications (minor in journalism) from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated in 2009.

Lombardo served as the sports editor of WCU's award-winning paper, The Quad, as well as the play-by-play voice of the men's basketball and football teams. He was also a sports talk radio host for the student-run radio station 91.7 WCUR.
