1. It Took Her Four Times to Win the Miss Maryland Crown

According to Press of Atlantic City:
The Maryland native won the state title on her fourth trip to the Miss Maryland pageant. Her mother was once a contestant at the state level, so she was introduced to pageants at an early age. And she kept coming back to the state competition because it’s not in her nature to give up.
She attributes her never giving up to her competitive nature.
2. Kenny Won for the Swimsuit Competition in the Preliminaries

This week, Kenny picked up one of the wins for the swimsuit competition in the preliminaries for Miss America 2015. She was surprised by it because she’s never won in that category before.
3. She Works In Sports Broadcasting But Plans to Attend Law School

Kenny plans on attending law school, though she’s presently working in sports broadcasting from 5:00 to 6:00 a.m. daily. My Eastern Shore MD writes:
Kenny earned a degree in sports broadcasting from the University of Alabama in May. She works in advertising and marketing at CBS Sports and lives in Silver Springs.
She hopes to combing sports and law to become a sports agent. Kenny told the Press of Atlantic City:
I love sports. My dad was always a coach in our community. I spent my Saturday’s watching Sports Center with him.
4. Crabs Are Her Thing

Maryland is known for its crabs and Miss Maryland is certainly a crab enthusiast. Kenny grew up on the state’s Eastern Shore, where bushels of crabs were readily available. She said she loves steamed crabs, cream of crab soup, and soft crab sandwiches as her favorite foods.
5. Kenny Was a Cheerleader
Kenny is a dancer who was also a cheerleader for the Washington Wizards. Kenny is performing a contemporary ballet in the Miss America talent competition. When she was competing for the Miss Maryland crown, she danced ballet to C+C Music Factory’s “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now).”
